Maria Urdaneta
Executive Assistant
My name is Maria Urdaneta, I came in 2022 to Luke 15 House. I possess an International Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), I have a Diploma in Adults Education.
In my life, I have had the opportunity to understand family issues, parental struggles, and community’s social problems. I have practical experience dealing with family traumas, anxiety, stress, and other mental illnesses. I am a very empathetic and passionate person committed to help someone in need despite their age, culture, gender, spiritual belief, or race. God’s love is immense for all!!
I am married to Fernando, and we are blessed with children. I love music, I love to sing, among my favorite activities to do are playing a variety of musical instruments with my family. At Luke 15 House (L15H), I use music as a therapy, I deliver motivational messages and spiritual teaching for all. In my opinion, music is the language for our souls, it relaxes our minds, lifts our emotions, and restores our life wounds.
I like to attend spiritual retreats, personal development conferences, and I love to travel to places to acknowledge the beauties of our Creator. I like to be in contact with nature (camping, nature walks, hikes, and any forms of outdoor connections).
I have been walking on a journey of rediscovery of myself through my faith, a way to grow and understand God’s purpose for my life. I help others to discover their paths to encounter peace and purpose too. I make deep connections with clients, so they can regain trust in people and society. We are compassionate at L15H because we listen and we do not judge people's lives; on the contrary, we use the language of empathy to give powerful messages of hope. I am very proud to say that our outcome is encouragement, healing, respect, and transformation.
I believe that through that very first connection with our potential clients, a transformation begins; they start changing their life’s. It's the first door that may open for them to start a new journey of change and healing, even to understand their own deep sufferings. For our clients its key they feel accepted in an environment of trust; also, we are this family that understands their sufferings, and traumas. I give short talks and inspirational teaching by playing my guitar. I am currently in training in a course to best understand addictions through the BC Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions. It’s a complete pleasure to serve and work at Luke 15 House!!!
